What We're Framing Now: Jess

The best pieces of art in our books are the ones that evoke a feeling. And in the case of our Lincoln Park Assistant Showroom Manager, Jess, this original artwork inspired her feelings of enchanting childhood memories.

What piece did you frame?

I framed an original painting by one of my favorite local artists - Carla Dvorak, who just happens to be my colleague and one of our Showroom Managers! We definitely have no shortage of artists and artistic people on our team and sharing that work with each other is one of my favorite parts of working here.

Why is it special to you?

In addition to being created by a good friend and talented colleague, the painting beautifully captures the idea of “memory” for me. It feels like a childhood memory - something in nature that has this extra layer of magic and enchantment.

Why did you choose the framing combination you did?

I considered many options - all beautiful - but in the final framing combination we selected it was clear to me the colors in the painting and the color of the frame had a warmth and playfulness that captured the spirit of the artwork.

What's your favorite part about how it turned out?

Everything! When you land on that perfect combination, it can be hard to put into words what makes it work. It just does. That’s the magic of custom framing.

Where will you display it?

It’s already hung in a place of honor in our living room.

Gallery wall is pictured.

Original artwork is one of our favorite things to frame! If you have an original piece of your own come see Jess in Lincoln Park or visit us in Highland Park or River North.
