Highland Park and North Shore Neighborhood Guide

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, our locations are in some of the best neighborhoods in all of Chicagoland. As if coming to see us wasn’t motivation enough, there’s so much to do in each neighborhood you can make an entire day of dining, sipping, strolling and, of course, framing beautiful art.

That’s why we’ve asked our team in each location (the ultimate artistic insiders!) to share their favorite spots to dine, explore and more in the neighborhoods they know so well.

Last but not least? Our store to the north, Highland Park, located on the lovely North Shore of Chicago, home to beautiful beaches and even more beautiful, stately old homes.

Where To Get Artistically Inspired

It’s not technically in Highland Park, but our North Shore neighbor Glencoe is home to one of the prettiest, artistic attractions in all of Chicagoland, the Chicago Botanic Garden. Any day spent in the northern burbs would be incomplete without a visit, especially come spring time, to check out their 385 acres of landscaped gardens displaying millions and millions of plants and flowers.

Where To Get A Great Meal

Lucky for you, one of the best delis in the entire area (seriously, people travel up from the city to visit) is just a few doors down from us. Max’s Deli has no shortage of delicious options, but our personal favorites include the Hot Pastrami and Egg In The Hole breakfast sandwich.

Where To Find Great Home Decor

In nearby neighboring Northfield sits a mecca for antiques, Heritage Trail Mercantile. It’s the perfect spot to scope out unique finds to elevate your home (in addition to fabulous framing, of course) with a wide, open “loft-like” space that is home to 42 of Chicagoland’s finest vintage vendors.

What’s a Can’t-Miss Highland Park Activity?

Duh, we’d be remiss to not mention one of the things Highland Park is most known for, the famous Ravinia Festival. For those not in the know (that’s what we’re here for!) Ravinia is an internationally renowned, not-for-profit music festival that presents performances every June through September. The 2022 season is taking root with a slate that already includes The Black Crowes, Bonnie Raitt and O.A.R.

These, and more, can’t-miss North Shore spots await! And while you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi to your friendly, local neighborhood framers.
